Description

The new high school, located on Kuntz Street, was dedicated with great festivity on Saturday, 23 October 1897. The building was designed by the Philadelphia architect, Seymour Davis (1869-1923). He also designed Allentown Hospital, Carnegie Library at Penn State, and numerous other schools. Eight+ rooms in the building, constructed at a total cost of $17,625.
The site is now occupied by the George Dillard Manor (425 Kuntz Street), public housing apartments for those over age 62.
