The Slatington News was one of the oldest newspapers published in the Lehigh Valley, starting from 1868 and ending in about 1985. I've broken a history of the newspaper into several sub-sections.
- The early years before James G. Rauch assumed control of the newspaper in 1898
- The construction years connected with the erection of the newspaper building at 420 Main Street, right on the Main Street Bridge over Trout Creek, 1898-1901
- The Rauch years of the direct management of the paper by James Rauch up to 1923 when James turned over active control of the newspaper to sons
- The Rauch family years when the Rauch brothers published the newspaper between 1923 and 1967
- The Nanovic years when the paper was published by H. Boyd and Joseph Nanovic of Palmerton until publication ceased in about 1985
