This is a rather typical slate quarry scene. This postcard was part of a small booklet of photos, Souvenir of Slatington, Penna. and Vicinity, sold by Jones Bros & Miller. These photos also appeared as regular, individual postcards.
A view of the intersection of Second and Main Streets, looking south. The former Citizen's National Bank is on the near corner and the Baptist church on the far corner.
Formerly located on the northwest corner of Walnut and Main Streets in the lower part of Slatington. This majestic building was one of several hotels in Slatington in the nineteenth century, and yes, once there were trees along the streets in town.
