Almost underneath the Trout Creek Bridge and next to the old Slatington News Building (no longer there), the old Gloria Sewing Mill has been repurposed. The mill was one time owned by the Muschlitz family.

The newspaper building is on the left; visible is the small miniature house and pond/garden that used to be there; most likely washed away in 1972.

This was known as Kern's dam, which supplied the water feed for Trucker's sawmill and also the gristmill. The trestle in the background carried the branch of the Lehigh Valley R.R. up to the slate quarries.
